How it Started
What would become the Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art began in 1991 with “Eine Kleine Nachtmusick,” a Mozart Bicentennial Celebration. In 1993, it became the Festival of Music & Art with six musical programs, an arts exhibit, theatrical performance, and a documentary film.
How it’s Going
Since it started, the fest has expanded to include multiple programs and themes, and musical performances that span jazz, bluegrass, chorale, gospel, and Grammy award-winning performers. In 2019, Blood, Sweat & Tears; Pablo Cruise, and the Marshall Tucker Band set the tone for the 29th festival, which has become a must for locals and visitors alike.
