Top Hammock Coast Activities to Get You in the Holiday Spirit

 

Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year on a Hammock Coast vacation. Trade the snow for sand, and you’ll still enjoy a white Christmas! Escape the cold and enjoy activities to make your holidays merry and bright. 

The Pawleys Island Tree Lighting, carol sing, and a visit with Santa takes place at 5 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Pawleys Island Nature Park. 

Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens is open from 4-9 p.m., Thursday through Sunday through Jan. 1. More than 2,700 hand-lit candles and millions of sparkling lights illuminate the paths where you can walk with a warm cup of cider while listening to holiday music.

 

The Christmas Craft and Vendors event is from 4-9 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Litchfield Market Village. Come out for holiday shopping, a Kids Zone, food, basket raffles, wine, beer, and more. 

The Murrells Inlet Christmas Tree Lighting takes place at Morse Park Landing from 4-6 p.m. on Dec. 3. Santa will be on hand, and you can enjoy crafts and music. The Inlet Christmas Parade rolls at 3 p.m. on Dec. 4, starting at the intersection of Wilcox Avenue and U.S. 17 Business and ending at Wachesaw Road. The grand finale of the parade is Santa and Mrs. Claus!

 

Hear the Pawleys Island Concert Band as it celebrates Christmas with Friends of Atalaya at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3 at Huntington Beach State Park on Murrells Inlet.

 

If you miss that concert, you’ll have another opportunity to hear the band at the Shine Bright Christmas Tree Lighting, 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4 at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church, 9967 Ocean Highway. 

 

In fact, the Pawleys Island Concert Band has a full slate of Christmas concerts in December, including St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Murrells Inlet at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9; the XIX Celebration of Christmas on Pawleys Island at 7 p.m. on Dec. 13; and Tuba Christmas with registration beginning at 10 a.m. and a 1 p.m. performance on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Pawleys Island Community Church lawn. 

 

Witness Holiday Magic at the Kaminsky House Museum in Historic Georgetown. Daily tours to view the spiraling decorations take place through Dec. 23. Take a special candlelight tour on Dec. 8 or Dec. 15. A Yuletide tour takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 10, and Family Night is Dec. 17.
