Spend Easter 2022 on the Hammock Coast

The most vividly colorful of all holidays, Easter, is just around the corner on April 17, 2022. That gives you time to book an extraordinary coast property to set up a great vacation. The Hammock Coast makes a splendid Easter destination, with plenty of activities, family-friendly attractions, delicious food, and wonderful accommodations.

Of course, there are the beautiful beaches. Pitch an umbrella, set up the beach chairs and soak in the sun.

Visit Brookgreen Gardens, one of the area’s most spectacular attractions. Marvel at the beauty of the Botanical Gardens, visit the animals at the Lowcountry Zoo, view masterful art and learn the history of the region. All in one place.

Huntington Beach State Park makes a picturesque site that nature lovers will adore. The park has a wide variety of wildlife and ecosystems, including the saltwater marshes and oceanfront views. The onsite Atalaya Castle is a Morrish-style home that serves as a South Carolina landmark.

As for those activities, stay busy with a full slate of Easter 2022 events.

Bring the kids for egg-cellent holiday events. The Annual Easter Egg Hunt takes place on Saturday, April 16 at the Kaminski House Museum on Front Street in Georgetown. The Easter Bunny will lead participants along the harbor walk and up to the lawn of the Kaminski House Museum to start the egg hunt at 10:15 am.

Or hop over to Hammock Shops Village on Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island for its Easter Egg Hunt, also held on Saturday, April 16. The event features thousands of eggs, live music, and plenty of fun activities. Adults can grab a drink to-go from one of the restaurants and watch the kids play.

Attend the Easter Sunrise Service held at the south end of Pawleys Island. Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church hosts the event each year. In case of inclement weather, head to Pawleys Island Chapel.

Enjoy an Easter brunch or lunch at one of the amazing restaurants on Pawleys Island. The Rustic Table offers an upscale version of Southern cuisine. The Dead Dog Saloon at the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet serves up a splendid Easter brunch.

Take part in one of the other activities in the days before and after the holiday. The International Gullah Film Festival, for example, takes place April 1-16 with virtual and in-person events.

The Murrells Inlet 15th Race for the Inlet is set a week prior from 8-10 a.m. on April 9. The 5K Fun Run welcomes walkers and runners of all ages. Event take place at the Morse Park Landing, 499 US-17 BUS.
