The Laughing Place is a Pawleys Island home on the South Carolina coast at the South End of Pawleys Island. A place where smiles and laughter are served and where the tide washes away all cares. Like Brer Rabbit said 'Everybody's got a laughing place where they can go ...' and this is in the heart of one of the best area islands on the South Carolina Coast. We hope you will enjoy it as your 'Laughing Place', too! The best of Pawleys, Oceanfront AND Creekside: Two-Story home with one deck and two screened porches. Laughing’ Place features three separate living areas so large groups of people have space for privacy as well. The ocean is just outside the door. Sit under the house in the shade or pull your chairs on out to sun on the beach. This home features great spaces for off season rentals where guests can work remote. Great home for fishing and close to golfing as well. Each portion of this house has a great view of the Ocean and/or the creek. New Decor and updates for 2024 include, updated/painted kitchen, painted ceilings on main level, improved indoor and outdoor furniture, new windows and sliders, additional USB stations for added convenience and so much more. Lift is not available for guest use.
**THIS RENTAL IS FOR THE WHOLE HOUSE**
The Main floor has living and dining room combination, kitchen, 4 bedrooms, and 2 baths. A wet bar with a refrigerator and ice maker is great for morning coffee, and other beverages. It also features a Keurig and drip coffee maker
Sleeping accommodations include 2 rooms with queen beds, a room with 2 twins and a set of bunk beds and a room with 2 twins and a trundle bed. Each queen room shares a bath with a room with twin beds.
Across the stairwell on same level is a 1 bedroom suite with a queen bed and full bathw/ step in shower, separate living area with a sleeper sofa, wet bar, refrigerator and ice maker.
INCLUDED IN THIS RENTAL IS THE UPSTAIRS APARTMENT. This is a stand alone area with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The living area includes an efficiency kitchen with full size refrigerator, 2 burner ceramic cooktop, convection oven, microwave, Keurig and a coffee pot. Bedding features are 1 queen size bed, 1 full bed and a sleeper sofa. The bath has a large garden tub.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RENT THE MAIN FLOOR PLEASE MAKE REQUEST THROUGH VRBO. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JUST THE 2 BEDROOM APARTMENT CHECK OUT VRBO. THERE IS ALSO A ONE BEDROOM UNIT THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE, BUT IS PERFECT FOR REMOTE WORK/TRAVEL.
We have added a covered dock on the creek with a floating section that is sure to be a favorite spot for all. Be sure to climb all the way up the stairs to the top of the house for a breathe-taking view from the deck on the roof. The unique layout offers as much or as little of the Laughing Place as you need.

Very good. Tidelife is a great firm to work with. I understand that the owner will consider some needed upgrades. This will help to approve the "curb" appeal. The dock on the creek was wonderful as was the location.

We had our third fantastic summer week at the Laughing Place. Very large house that accomodates our very large family with three generations. The beach our back and the dock out front make this the perfect home. We have applied to return in 2024.

My big family enjoyed our second vacation together in this huge home on the beach and creek. The home has two kitchens and one kitchenette which worked well with our children and grandchildren, with four icemakers, a coffee bar with bar sink, and a widows walk on the rooftop with a 355 degree view. Just a few steps to the beach and the creek. Everything was great, and our entire family loved it! We look forward to visiting again in 2023.

My family and I have stayed here for years, now it’s become our girl’s retreat. Great for large groups, as there are lots of rooms and comfy smaller conversation areas for visiting. Wonderful views, love the creek dock and view from the roof top, whicch, as it turns out, is the perfect place to watch the Persied meteor showers! Highly recommended!!

We were a bit disappointed with the general condition of two of the bathrooms in the Laughing Place. Some of the bath doors did not close and should be sanded down to do so.
We have been coming to Pawleys Island for quite some time and are used to sand, however, the sand upon arrival had not been cleaned very well both inside and out on the entry steps.
The dishwasher did not work and it appeared had not been unusable for some time as there was a partial gallon of Dawn on the sink counter for handwashing dishes.
In the King bed suite, the area rugs had rips in them and could be a tripping hazard.
On the positive, the kids enjoyed fishing from the creek dock.

Thank you for your review. Laughing Place is direct ocean front and sea winds can easily blow sand onto the decks and porches even after we have blown them off between every arrival. The appliance companies in the area are far stretched at this time due to COVID and back orders on all parts. Our entire family enjoyed an incredible vacation week at The Laughing Place through Tide Life Vacation Rentals! My wife and all our grown children would highly recommend it as well as the professionals at Tide Life.
We have a large family with kids and grandkids and lots of stuff, so the four bedroom main house + 2 bedroom suite plus + 1 bedroom suite allowed for plenty of privacy and quiet when exhausted grandchildren needed naps and grownups wanted to sleep later.
Having the beach / sunrise on the back and the fishing creek / covered dock / sunset on the front is perfect for grownups and children alike. The home was spacious with plenty of seating areas both inside and out, including an amazing 360 degree view widows walk on the roof. The dinner table was perfect because it seated the whole ChamFam comfortably. Also my kids loved washing the grandkids in the outdoor shower under the house after beach time.
Suzanne and her team described this place extremely well and by no stretch of the imagination did it disappoint in any way. We definitely plan to come back.

The property is perfect for a large group with multiple generations vacationing together. The location is just what we looked for with both ocean access and a dock for fishing, crabbing and sunset drinks - screened porches on both sides of the house. We thoroughly enjoyed staying and would highly recommend it.
The only recommendation we would offer is additional pots and pans, measuring cups and spoons and cooking utensils would be helpful if you are only renting the main house. If you are renting the total property you can raid the other kitchens.

We loved the island location between the ocean and the inlet water. The kids fished, crabbed and were on the beach everyday. The eating area was great for our 5 families to do crafts, games and eating. The three units were all clean but in great need of general up keep. Lots of rusty areas, black plastic bags on windows, broken blinds, chipping/old paint and the new elevator not working. Recent maintenance efforts were obvious ( counters, shower, patio doors, dock),but it’s many years behind for routine painting or replacement. The unit was cleans and most everything was working. No remote for the one bedroom portion and tv instructions would be nice too. The beds were in great shape and overall we loved the place, but sad to see the old girl so worn out. More neglect than old and quaint.
