Settle down for a great vacation in this classic home located directly on the beach on the South end of Pawley's Island. This four bedroom two bathroom features a full kitchen and dining area, living room with cable TV and wireless internet. Enjoy many views of the ocean while sitting on the seaside deck or enclosed porch. Or shift to the creekside deck for great sunsets. Bedding size is two queens and four singles, original hardwood flooring throughout, master bedroom opening to the deck, outdoor shower with hot and cold water, old brick fireplace, and an elevator for guest use.
Sunday to Sunday weekly rentals ONLY between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
THREE NIGHT MINIMUM IN THE OFF SEASON

It was a great vacation enjoyed everything. The roof leaked during heavy rain which was almost every day. There were multiple leaks, 4 that we counted 3 in the living room and one in the kitchen. Gave me concern that there maybe a mold problem.

Thank you for your review. The homeowner has been working very hard with the roofing company in our area to repair and replace these spots. It typically only happens when there is a heavy rainfall with wind. There is no mold in the property - all our properties are tested for it regularly due to the high humidity of our area. Disappointing. Needs a new roof, badly. Spent too much time putting out pots to catch water leaking in, then making sure the kids didn’t trip over them when playing inside. Would not stay again and think we should get some monetary compensation

Thank you for your review. The owner just had the roof replaced over the fall and continues to make upgrades and adjustments to the home. Unfortunately most of the houses in Pawleys Island face leaks when it rains VERY heavily and that comes with the territory of renting classic Pawleys Island beach cottages. Certainly we hope this did not disrupt your stay too much and we hope to have you back in Pawleys Island again in the future! Update: The roof was completely replaced in Feb of 2023.

Loved our stay at the Dingy. Grew up going to this house when it was owned by my Aunt. Only complaint is that I have yet to receive a breakdown for the charges for my stay despite asking twice. My rate was $300/night and given my payment of over $2,000 that equates to $800 in surcharges. Would like to know what those charges are before staying again or recommending it to a friend. Once again, we were pleased with every aspect of our October week at The Dinghy. The charm of this oceanfront cottage brought back fond memories of staying on the island decades ago. The house has vintage character along with current comforts of well lit sparkling clean rooms and bathrooms, well stocked kitchen, showers with wonderful water pressure (both indoors and out), and the convenience of an elevator.
The location close to the southern inlet provided much to do, explore, and see on foot: bird and sea life watching, shell collecting, and watching fishermen. Bonus: Sunrise viewing on the Carolina Porch and sunset viewing on the creekside deck.
The owners have carefully maintained their home and Tidelife is always available to make your stay comfortable and convenient in every way.

We enjoyed our stay. The house is sweet and the sunroom really made the stay for us. Queen beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Location was perfect for marsh and beach access. Only wish we had access to a dock. Fun week love Pawleys island.

The Dinghy was rustic but I like rustic. I would recommend updating the bathrooms. The creek side entrance door needed some maintenance, it would not unlock with the key. It rained hard on our 1st day and their were leaks in the livingroom ceiling. My husband would have loved a dock dedicated to the Dinghy to fish from, all the other homes on the street had a dock. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the Dinghy and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay on the quieter end of Pawley's Island.

There are several homes on the Island that do not feature a private creek dock but that does not prohibit you from having creek access. We had a good time but we had problems with the ceiling leaking in the living room in 2 places the cabinet over the sink in the kitchen leaked and we had fleas in one of the bedrooms and some roaches not palmetto bugs in the bathroom and living room.

All homes are under quarterly pest control but sometimes if we have a high amount of rain, they will sneak in. We will continue to have the homes sprayed for pests. The little house is seasoned with love, and the description arrogantly shabby fits it perfectly. The furnishings are tired but the house has "good bones" and feels good the moment you walk through the door. My family and I loved our stay, enjoyed the beach, the "Night of a Thousand Candles" and it was a perfect getaway for us. Had a wonderful time - first time at the little house. we usually stay at another house. great location can beat the view of the beach, screened in back was nice, house had some problems though. Kitchen sink was leaking and roof - we were mopping up water. quaint little house. just needs a good cleaning. I left a necklace behind, i believe it fell on the bathroom floor; called the office they said they would check on it and no one ever got back to me. that was disappointing. otherwise overall a good family time.

House is an old one but has so much character! Loved the new creek side decks! Small Bathroom does not have a power outlet? That needs to be addressed!!! Twin Bedroom nearest ocean needs a power strip with multiple outlets,NOT old timey brown extension cords, this was a safety/fire concern for us... Never could locate the fan switch for porch, realty company had no idea either? Shell path pretty but steps to the beach are needed for safety. Soft sand is hard on all ages! We loved the location and the floor plan, the elevator was a must! Knives/utensils hanging on magnets in kitchen were greasy, so need a GOOD cleaning and the rusty heat units in the rooms, a coat of paint maybe? This would certainly make house look cleaner! We hope to rent again, Great location and floor plan!

My only complaint is when we got there it was extremely hot in the house. It was set at 76 and said "keep at 76". That is way to hot to keep a house when its in the 90's. It did cool off once we lowered the temp but there was no way we could keep it at 76 and be happy and comfortable. The rooms don't seem to have good airflow and were stuffy. They have fans in the bedrooms so we used those. The place could use an updated AC unit. Thankfully the place eventually cooled off in all and we stopped sweating. The house itself was great and the locations is the selling point to this house. I would stay again.

You could not find a more idyllic little hideout on Pawleys Island. Beach in the front, salt marsh in the back, and an old brick fireplace to keep you warm on cooler winter nights. Snug, gorgeous wood, Old Pawleys Island charm. And we love the new back deck with doors from the master bedroom that let in so much light. Nothing to complain about except that we could not stay longer.
