For some visitors, the nightly sounds of chirping crickets, splashing waves, and singing birds are enough to enjoy on spring and summer nights. But others like to kick up their heels on the dance floor or listen to local bands play their favorite tunes.
Best Spots for Live Music on the Hammock Coast
When on a Pawleys Island vacation, it’s easy to do both. There are plenty of restaurants that offer live music, especially on weekends.
The good times roll every Thursday through Sunday in the laid-back Pawleys Island Tavern, 10635 Ocean Highway, as local bands take the stage to get the party started. The music usually gets going about 8 p.m., with groups including the Doc Simons Band, The Mullets, and Suavacado.
Local Eat Drink Celebrate at the Hammock Shops Village hosts a Blue Brunch on Sundays, music on Wednesdays, and Trivia Night on Thursdays. Watch their website for additional music events.
The MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet offers several options for your listening pleasure. Live music can be heard all year round at this hot spot. Restaurants such as Creek Ratz, Dead Dog Saloon and Drunken Jack’s have bands ranging from blues to rock to country to pop. The Tuna Shak, an open-air waterfront tiki hut next door to Wicked Tuna at The Marshwalk, features live music every night.
The Hot Fish Club in Murrells Inlet, founded in 1792, serves gourmet seafood in a casual atmosphere on the water. The restaurant’s gazebo on the marsh makes a beautiful spot to listen to live music.
Coastal Dish and The Deck at Litchfield Beach Club & Golf Resort features entertainment from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Sundays. Enjoy a specialty cocktail and a meal while listening to music in a beautiful setting.
At the end of an evening out, wander back to your vacation rental where you can fall asleep to the sounds of nature. That’s what we call a win-win.
