6 Ways to Celebrate Thanksgiving on the Hammock Coast

Visit the carving station for turkey, honey-baked ham, carved prime rib, roast pork tenderloin with apple chutney. There is also a hot station with fried fish, fried shrimp, barbecued salmon, cornbread stuffing, sweet corn pudding, mac and cheese, and an array of other sides; seafood gumbo; peel-and-eat shrimp, and much, much more. Order your Thanksgiving feast from Get Carried Away Southern Market on Pawleys Island for fantastic sides and desserts to enjoy at your vacation property. Their menu includes mac and cheese, cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, collard greens, turkey gravy and more. The decadent dessert menu offers an array of pies, including pumpkin and white chocolate pecan pie, pound cakes like cream cheese and sweet potato pound cake with brown pecan glaze, and bars. 

Visit Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens from 4-9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26 or Sunday, Nov. 27. More than 2,700 hand-lit candles and millions of sparkling lights make this seasonal activity a favorite for locals and visitors. 

 

Cross items off your Christmas gift list during Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday shopping. The Hammock Shops Village on U.S. 17 in Pawleys Island features a dozen specialty stores, a couple of restaurants and a playground where kids can burn off energy while you shop. Pawleys Island General Store is another great stop for locally made products. 

Kick off Christmas with the Pawleys Island Tree Lighting, carol sing and a visit with Santa at 5 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Pawleys Island Nature Park.
