A Happy Seagull's French Fry

We have rented this property 3 years in a row. The first year it was immaculate and the price was reasonable. The second year the price went up significantly and property was not as well maintained-the pool was missing a large amount of tile, waterfall didn’t work and the porch ceiling leaked when it rained. This year the price when up significantly again-porch roof leak which I reported with pictures of it leaking-is still there, access to the roof deck has been boarded over to prevent access as it is falling apart (and we were there during a meteor shower, how disappointing), bathroom had obviously had a water leak around the toilet at some point and baseboards remained with brown water damage, and the back up air conditioning drain over the kitchen window poured out water all week. We are staying elsewhere next year.

Overall we had a great vacation and enjoyed the house! The location was fantastic and the pool area was the best part of the house. However, the cleanliness of the house when we arrived was an issue. The bedrooms in the house were clean, however the dining table area had a lot of crumbs and food still on the chairs and under the table. The floor in the downstairs bedroom off of the pool was completely disgusting. Clearly there had been no effort to clean those floors as they were covered in sand and dirt. The cleanliness of the house certainly needs to be improved. Also, the highchair provided by the house is an antique-looking wooden highchair which is rusted and does not look safe or clean to use to feed a baby. Since we had a baby with us we contacted the rental office and they brought over a newer highchair immediately which was greatly appreciated! The pool was a great addition to our vacation and was used every day. Aside from the cleanliness issues we really enjoyed the amenities and location of the house.

We were very happy with the location and size of this house. For a family vacation, we had a lot of different personalities staying here. The house has a variety of places to hang out and spread out.
We were disappointed that the rooftop was not accessible, as advertised... We feel this should have disclosed to us ahead of time.
We also had a few minor issues with the plumbing (maintenance came and fixed), and the pool. The pool company came twice during our stay, both times were unexpected. While we know that this is necessary and we ultimately appreciate it, we also would have liked a notice that they were coming.
Lastly, there is hardly any storage in the rooms. There is only one accessible clothes closet in the whole house. The room with balcony access didn't even have a dresser... just two bedside tables. If dressers/furniture don't work, more hooks in the rooms could help.
We look forward to staying in this house again. We just hope to be able to use the whole house, such as the roof, and store/hang our clothes.

We stayed at the property the week of May 28-June 4 and had a fabulous time! The location is awesome! Across the street from the beach. The outdoor area is awesome! Spent so much time in the pool. Took awhile for us to find the washer/dryer. It is located in a room by the driveway and was also filled with pool floats and chairs. The inside of the house is fine. Shows some wear and tear and the drinkware in the kitchen should be updated. Only one of the bedrooms had a useable closet, but in the other bedrooms, hooks on the walls we all over. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Went to the beach bar at the nearby Litchfield Inn. We were all adults but the house would work for kids too. Overall, outstanding vacation!

We rented this home for wedding guests from 2 different states for my daughter's wedding in Murrells Inlet. They enjoyed the pool and the distance to the beach. Great layout for two couples and 4 single friends to enjoy. I would highly recommend renting this home to anyone!

This is a great home. Great vibe and perfect for two families with kids. I’d recommend few ideas:
- Clean the grill. It was in terrible shape and very dirty when we went to cook on it for the first time.
- Two king beds is excessive, maybe have the ability to convert one king into two singles.
- Prior to May, allow the pool to be heated. Water was cold and was not an option for us to swim.
Outside of that, the house was perfect. Ping pong table was a huge hit!

We love vacationing in the Pawleys Island area. We have been coming for 20 years and always have a wonderful time. The houses are clean and welcoming. The staff at Tidelife is helpful. The only concern we had was the garbage pickup. There was one can which was full when we got there. The garbage truck only came one time all week. It’s always been 2 days of pickups in our past visits. I realize this isn’t the Tidelifes fault. Just think it should be addressed.

There are so many great things about this property - the pool, location, updates, etc. But the biggest negatives for us were the ancient washer and dryer and the fact that you can't lower the AC below 70. The spin cycle on the washer does not work and clothes come out sopping wet no matter how many times you run the spin cycle. You have to ring every piece out by hand before putting the load into the dryer. And then if you are not careful, the dryer will about cook your go easy on the dry time you set it for. And with a week of (gorgeous) sunny weather and temps in the 80s, the house never seemed cool because of the AC's 70-degree lock. It was especially uncomfortable at night trying to sleep. Even if you could lower it to 68 - that would be a huge improvement. The house rent is double what it used to be when it was called Cottage in the Palms - and for that kind of money, you should AT LEAST be able to wash and dry your clothes properly. As great as the house is, we probably wouldn't stay there again because of the washer and the AC.

Place was very clean when we arrived. Loved spending time at the tiki bar by the pool. The ping pong table was a hit. Loved the very short walk to the beach. Will definitely come back.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location. The rental was clean and had everything we needed. The room layout was perfect and allowed our family to spread out when need be and still had all the amenities we needed to spend time together.

We had an amazing time at this house. This was the perfect “covid” vacation. The pool was beautiful and clean lots of extra pool toys and chairs the tiki bar and ping pong table were very enjoyed by the whole family. It was so nice being right across the street from the beach. It really is a great house. The only complaint I have is I wish the bedding was alittle softer, but that’s it!Everything else else was amazing

We had great weather and a pleasant week at “ A Happy Seagulls’s French Fry” we enjoyed the pool area but had to contact the rental company as the lounge chairs were broken and there was no hammock ( as advertised) also disappointed that we could not use the outdoor grill. Other wise the home was comfortable and provided a relaxing vacation. Tidelife was very accommodating of our requests.

My family went for a long weekend in early May. This was just the get away we needed after being "locked up" during this Coronavirus Pandemic.
The house was GREAT!! A very well equipped kitchen, location was perfect, pool was awesome for the grandchildren. The poolside Tiki Bar was great for our Low Country Boil. Can't say enough about our Family Fun Trip!

Having stayed at this location multiple times, we were discouraged to see how run down it has become. Realize it was the end of the season, but don't think the condition was because it was late in the season. Tiki Bar needs cleaning and paint, no handles on refrigerator, shrubbery in need of trimming. Laundry room - was afraid to go in there. Appliances were terribly rusted and dirty, burner on kitchen stove not working, bathrooms - mold on shower door tracks; the entire house needs a thorough cleaning!! The roaches were terrifying the grandchildren. We were told it was sprayed regularly, but we couldn't leave any food out because of them. It is a cute house with lots of sleeping space, but it is in dire need of the face lift.

Pool was a delight-clean and well furnished. Lush landscaping provided excellent privacy. House was clean and well equipped. Plenty of parking. Enjoyed rainbows and sunsets from the upper deck. We had a great time.

We have a great time each year with a large number of families that meet at the beach. I would like to see the pool cleaned at least once during the week on Tuesday or Wednesday similar to the past. We use the pool every day and with the large crowd it gets dirty

My family and I love this rental space. The other real estates in the area do a rotating week every few years and TideLife does not. If we cannot get next week for the real estate we will be very disappointed. Is there a reason that TideLife does not do the rotating weeks?
We were also very disappointed that the pool tile needed attention and the pool fountain was not working. The pool tile was a problem for pictures which we always take around the pool.

We had a wonderful time and the house was perfect. It is just across the street from the beach and we enjoyed the pool as well. It really couldn't have been any better. We love this house!

This house is perfect! Location, pool, clean and made the best home base for my annual girls trip. I hope to rent again next year!

If we had to come up with any issue at all: the wood railings are coming apart at the widow walk and leading up to it, which is a safety issue.

2 very brave moms and their college-aged kids (with a few college friends added in) recently stayed at A Seaside Va Va-Cation and loved the property! There is plenty of fun for everyone with a pool, ping pong table and a great backyard around the pool for games like cornhole, ladder ball, Frisbee, etc. The weather was cool but beautiful and the kids all stayed around the pool during our time there, enjoying the amenities. We cooked in almost every meal, and the kitchen is very well stocked - LOTS of pots/pans/utensils for all of our needs. The only (very small) criticism is that the stove eyes need work - they don't sit flat on the stove unless a heavy pot is on them, so saute pans are slightly angled as we cooked (see, I said it was VERY minor!) Tidelife (rental agency) was extremely easy to work with - very friendly and accommodating - head and shoulders above other companies I've used in the past. There was nobody checking in the day after our checkout, and they made sure we knew we could stay past the stated 10am checkout time - a very nice luxury given that getting college kids moving early in the morning is a herculean task! :) I highly recommend Tidelife, and will definitely use them for future needs!

A group of local ladies rented this home to get away from "real world" for a weekend. It was perfect. The entire home has been updated, including the living room furniture. We were expecting a rattan sofa and walked into a beautiful new sectional. The sleeping arrangements were perfect with kings and twins. It was too chilly to spend much time outside by the pool, but the space was incredible. We went across the street for lunch by the ocean one day, which was very convenient. Beach access is right across the street. HIGHLY recommend. We hope to be back.

I booked this house for a long weeekend with my supper club. 5 couples. We had the most amazing weather in a great house. Pool was great! We even brought our tailgate kit to set TVs up at the pool for college football!

We are already talking about next Year!

Only thing I would possibly change is the full bedin the downtown stairs bedroom. Full bed is a little tight for a couple.

The outdoor living area was lovely and we spent a lot of time out by the pool! The grill was a bit flaky so we did not get to grill out as much as planned. It was so close to the beach, which was wonderful for morning walks. The bedrooms were on the small side and the bathroom sharing wasn't ideal, but we made it work. Overall, it was a very nice rental and we would come again.

The one problem we saw was the wicker furniture downstairs needs to go and a chester drawers put in place so guest have a place for their cloths.

This was my 33rd year coming to North Litchfield and Litchfield. This house was the nicest house that I have stayed in. It was very clean, up to date and worth every penny to rent it. You can tell that the owners take a lot of pride in their home. This house was a pleasure to rent and am looking forward to rent it for years to come.

We loved 98% of our entire trip. The location, the house, almost everything was perfect. Unfortunately though, we had picked this house because of the heated pool, but it ran out of propane to heat it. Now I know it seems small, but we were traveling early in the season and knew the weather could be unpredictable and the ocean would still be very cold. My daughter loves to swim, and with the heated pool, regardless of air temp, she would have gone in. I had alerted you Wednesday about the temp, and had to follow up Thursday to figure out what was going on. Unfortunately and not your fault the propane could not be refilled till after we had returned home. You guys returned our money for the heated pool, which we appreciate, but I think some sort of protocol to make sure this doesn't happen should be in place. We love the house and location and plan on returning again.

My daughter was getting married on a Monday in Pawleys island and needed a place from Wednesday to Wednesday. The rental company eagerly accommodated us. All the guest were staying directly across the street from our house which was perfect. The pool was used continuously even though it was colllllld outside. Home was perfect, inside and out.. thank you for a memory we will never forget.

The wedding party stayed here while guests stayed across the street. It was the perfect home for us. The backyard landscape and inside beach decorations were perfect. It had everything we needed. My family is discussing renting it again next year for our one year anniversary!

Very positive in every way. We had rented this property on a previous family vacation. Were familiar with the property, so decided to rent again this year.

This was our 3rd time in this property and it was exactly the same. Perfect!

The pool was a big hit particularly for late afternoon relaxation.

Love this home and location. Perfect for one or two families. Plenty of parking, and the walkway to the beach is right across the street. The pool is also a plus.

We have stayed in over 90 beach houses and this was the most cozy and family friendly. I plan on coming back every year!!
